![]() Topic: Lydden Hill 24th July Inters 1Posted: 27 July 2010 at 23:41 |

This was my second visit to Lydden this year, my first was in April and lasted all of 1.5 laps before I highsided myself the left clip-on and foot peg was broken so no more play time for me. Fast forward to July and I’m getting ready to go out and play again. Me and my brother bagged a nice little spot before the paddock got too packed and who pulls up to us? None other then Slimjim in his van and redline on his Fireblade, I had never met either of them before but within no time at all we was having a laugh and chatting like mates. Watched Slimjim going round in the big boys group and he was doing really well considering it was his first time here, and also to Redline as well, doing well on his trusty old stead. Also introduced to Nicky and Woody on their supermoto's who were great guys as well, they both let Slimjim have a play on their Supermoto's. First session out and I was taking it easy just bedding myself and the bike into the track, the bike was not feeling great, a bit wooly up to 5000-6000rpm before it cleared up and the handling was not great either. I checked the tires after the session to find that they were tearing up a bit so I back off the compression a bit. Went out for the second session and the handling was loads better and the tires had no tearing at all afterwards. The third session, I started to get my head down a bit more and started to push my breaking markers further, testing different lines so I was happy to change my lines into and out of corner when I was overtaking others. For the remainder of the sessions in the afternoon I had the camera on my bike and spent some of the time following my brother so he could bore his other half to death with his riding skills. Get another custom map done for the bike to clear up the rough fuelling low down as I’ve have fitted new exhaust headers, link pipe and removed and blanked off the Secondary Air Supply System since I had the custom map done. Maintain high corner speed around pilgrims as this is where I was losing some time to others but each time I did push on a bit I got lots of movement from the rear. I may change from the 2ct's to more track focused rubber as I maybe asking to much of the 2ct's! I had posted a link to the last session I did following my brother on Redlines post but here it is again, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D9EPOd6AOE Comments good or bad are welcomed as long as I can learn from them, then all's good in my books. glad you had a good day fella!
I really rated my 2ct for road use, but didn't like them too much on track. |
