As I have an 05 and there are subtle differences in the clutches between 05 and 06, this is surplus to requirement. It is used, so it's not pristine, but is in good useable condition £350 posted

So out of interest, this won't fit an 04/05 bike then?

Nope, the shaft is slightly longer do you can only get the clutch nut on halfway. I had an 06 gearbox spare in my garage and tried and annoyingly it fits perfectly

You can use the smaller rear washer and it'll work on the 06 :-)

I wonder if the 06 shares the same shaft as the 4c8 then? Because the gears are interchangeable upon both shafts, but the input shaft on the 4c8 was 10mm or so longer when I replaced the box on my 05 last year with a 4c8 box.
Does the 06 come with a slipper as standard like the 4c8?

The standard 06 didn't have a slipper clutch, only the SP version had one. They both have a different clutch cover to the 04-05. Did you have to change the clutch cover for your 4C8 gearbox? I can't see why it wouldn't fit as the only problem I had was the nut not going on far enough, but if the shaft is longer then I can't see it being a problem

No, I re-used the original shaft from my box and swapped the gears over. I didn't realise they had a different cover. Sound's like the conversion would consist of a change if input shaft and clutch cover then! I did wonder what would be involved to put a standard 4c8 slipper into a 5vy. Thanks for the info thumbsup

Changing the shaft does involve grief... You've got to use the corresponding year clutch cover and the washers from either the clutch you use or the preceding, depending on which way you go. It's a serious pain in the arse involving much head scratching I can tell you.
