Here at Black & White Bikes we’ve taken a good look at the latest battery technology and have decided to develop a motorcycle battery specifically for the racing and track riding fraternity.

What we have come up with is, what we believe to be, the best motorcycle battery you can buy – as simple as that!

Firstly, it’s very powerful.

Secondly, it’s amazingly light weight and can be located either in the existing battery compartment or can easily be relocated to a more mass central location.

Thirdly, it’s a safe and reliable replacement for original batteries

And finally, it’s a robust, weatherproof and repairable unit.  That means that it will survive the English weather and also, if you have an unfortunate incident at the track and damage the battery we can, in most cases, replace the case much cheaper than having to buy a new battery.

Oh, and to top it all off, we’ve managed to get it down in price to easily beat any comparable product.

So, in a bit more detail, we have 2 versions currently available:

The SuperLight B&W Battery

4.6Ah
240A Max 10 Second discharge
120A Continuous discharge

1,000 cycle life (most batteries have a cycle life of <500 cycles)
Size (L x W x H) = 8cm x 8cm x 16cm
Weight: <1kg (we are aiming for 900g)

The UltraLight B&W Battery

2.3Ah
120A Max 10 Second discharge
60A Continuous discharge

1,000 cycle life (most batteries have a cycle life of <500 cycles)
Size (L x W x H) = 8cm x 8cm x 9cm
Weight: <500g

Basically, if you have a race or track bike that is 600cc or smaller and want to save as much weight as possible then you can give the UltraLight a go.

Anything bigger than 600cc or that has cylinders bigger than 150cc will (probably) need the SuperLight.  If in doubt, we will be more than happy to advise you on what’s best for your bike.

This really is very new and the first ones will be coming off the production line next week if everything goes well but we anticipate a lot of interest.  So new in fact that I can’t show you any images at the moment but they will look quite funky (for a battery!)

These things are so good that one of the very first production units will be going straight onto a British Superbike currently running in the 2010 BSB series.  I can’t reveal any more than that for the time being.

OK, so the bottom line – How much?

The SuperLight B&W Battery - £149.99 incl VAT + £8 P&P (Special Delivery)

The UltraLight B&W Battery - £89.99 incl VAT + £8 P&P (Special Delivery)

*****TrackDayRiders Special Offer*****

10% off and FREE delivery

The SuperLight B&W Battery - £134.99 incl VAT + FREE P&P (Special Delivery)

The UltraLight B&W Battery - £80.99 incl VAT + FREE P&P (Special Delivery)

This very special introductory offer will only be given to TDR members who PM me via the forum.

We will be looking to send out our first batch from 23rd August 2010.

Yes you're right, they are not the cheapest batteries available but they are the cheapest way to save around 3 kg on a race bike.

To do that with carbon fibre and titanium would cost thousands!

Forgot to mention that you get a full 1 year guarantee too.

Right then, a little later than expected but here in all its glory is this very fine battery.

Be prepared to see a lot more of this beauty in the bike mags over the next few months.

And then of course I may struggle to keep up with demand when it hits the national press so now is your chance to get one at the discounted price.

Peter Hickman has struggled to get the weight down on his Yamaha R1 British Superbike and he was very happy to use one of these to help save those valuable grammes.

Drop me a PM if you're interested.

And its come in even lighter at only 850g!!!!

Will one of the superlight batteries work for a Ducati 1098 V-Twin (1099cc) which will require more power than an equivalent 4-cyl engine ?
Have you had any experience with Ducati 1098s, as I have tried a "Racing Batteries" battery but this would not work because, we believe, the CAN-BUS system was effectively "rejecting" the battery as a fault, and preventing the starter being engaged (works fine with OE battery)?
Cheers
