It is with great regret that I'm having to sell my 2015 Yamaha R1 track bike.

Unfortunately I've been diagnosed with DVT for the 2nd time so it looks like I'll be on blood thinners for the foreseeable future, and riding a litre sportsbike isn't conducive to staying safe. I still haven't really come to terms with it all and can't quite believe I have to sell the bike after the time and money I've put in, but there's no point in delaying the inevitable so here goes....

I bought the bike with just over 200 miles on the clocks and converted it to a track bike, see the thread here: http://www.trackdayriders.co.uk/tdr/forum/2015-r1-track-bike-conversion_topic64031.html

It is pretty much the same spec as described in that thread, but here's a complete list:
  • V5 in my name - 3 keys, including 1 red one
  • Ohlins NIX Fork Cartridges - 10Nm springs
  • Ohlins TTX GP Shock - 90Nm spring
  • CRC Fairing, professionally painted and laquered
  • PipeWerx Exhaust (450mm) - 98db with baffle, 104db without
  • Seton/DBR Rearsets
  • Seton Clip-ons
  • Seton ECU flash
  • Sprint steering damper
  • Diamond Tank Cap
  • Venhill QA Throttle
  • EBC GPFAX pads - Brand new
  • DID 520 Chain
  • Renthal Sprockets
  • Stompgrips
  • R&G Engine Casing protection
  • GB Racing Frame Sliders
  • Carbonin carbon frame protectors
  • Brembo RCS19 master cylinder
  • ABS removed
  • Lightech clutch lever
  • Lightech chain adjusters
  • Spare OE magnesium wheels with disks, sprocket carrier and Pirelli wets
  • Both sets of wheels have tapered captive spacers
  • R&G front and rear spindle protectors - not fitted as it's a pain with wheel changes
  • Clocks read 2725 miles
I have the original master cylinder so if you wanted a SSTK bike that's all you'd need to change to ensure it was correctly spec'd.

The bike has never been dropped or crashed and is in excellent condition. Over winter the suspension has been serviced and valve clearances checked by Steve Jordan Motorcycles.

There are currently Continental ContiTrack slicks on with 1-2 days left in the them and I have a brand new front and 2 new rears included in the package. It even comes with a full tank of super unleaded fuel.

Contact: 07738 731048
Price: £15,500

I will not be breaking it or splitting out parts, the whole lot will go as a package.

Thanks for the replies. Want to get rid of it so I can rip the band aid off as quickly as possible, so now on eBay...

@macca67 - They're like rocking horse poop those wheels, I have a mate with an R1 that already wants them, as well as a few other bits but it has to go as a package.

Really sorry to hear about the bad news mate. I don't know anything about DVT, but I hope it's something that can eventually be cured or managed in such a way that you can get back onto a bike.

GLWTS and wishing you get back to your full health soon.

Had a fairly positive chat with the hospital specialist and after some deep thought I can't bring myself to sell it. I don't think I could ever give up bikes and my condition doesn't stop me mentally or physically, just puts me at a higher risk of injury if I fall off.

It's no longer for sale!
