Topic: Parcel monkey STAY AWAY FROM THEM Posted: 13 September 2013 at 09:18 |
So poor Lee V bought some Dunlop wets from me at the start of the week. I booked next day delivery to be picked up Wednesday, and delivered Thursday.
ParcelMonkey failed to pick them up on Wednesday and offered a new pick up date of Friday. After i complained they said ok we will pick up Thursday. When Thursday came (the day they SHOULD have arrived to Lee, they were again not collected from me.
I've had to give a refund to Lee understandably as he has to arrange tyres for Snetterton tomorrow now some other way, and after two days sat in the house for collection, and paying for the (lack of) service, now they won't answer me for a refund.
So pissed off. Hope he manages to have a top ride after all this sh*t. I'm off to Glasgow to get smashed.

I had the same thing with Parcel to Go. Waited in all day and they didn't collect.
When I contacted them ( you can only contact them by email) they were really shitty with me and said they don't guarantee collection.
They then take 7 days to reimburse your money.
I have used RM ever since, more money but it gets there.

I use Hermes now. You take the parcel to the local shops rather than pick up. I sent a bolt to McKean with RM 1st class and the useless feckers lost it

Sent quite a few items with parcel monkey and parcels to go, not had an issue (touch wood).
City link is the depot near to me, sometimes I put the collection address as there depot and drop it off there.

Ah, that explains the PM he sent me this morning.
But, we now have a contract with TNT, it's so much easier than dealing with these "clearing house" type companies and you can talk to a real person if anything goes wrong or missing.

After having various issues with Hermes regarding failed collections and also occasions where it has taken 10+ days from collecting the goods to deliver them, i now use mainly interparcel.com ( their economy service is via UPS) or use the 48 hour option through CityLInk.
I have also used I Post parcels which is run by UKMail and with the various online voucher codes, are quite competitive on prices and are reliable.
anything under 2kg that is fairly small still goes by RM.

If you go cheap you get sh*t service, from time to time. Thats life. I had a horrible experience with parcels to go. That said im sure the have 1000's of happy customers who paid bottom dollar. If you go low, you may take a low blow.
Ive also used parcel monkey a few times including world wide and they've been 100%
