Here's my thoughts on Nemomoto rider coaching.
I contacted Lee after reading numoous gleaming reviews on here and on his Faceache page. A little bit of background on myself. I am prodemenatly a road rider with over 20years of experience and I done my first trackday around 10years ago and ha ve only done one or two a year with many years with none at all due to bringing up two kids. Last year I bought my first dedicated trackbike and decided to get more into it and have now done 8 days on my 1999 zx6r and got to the top end of the inters . This is where Lee comes in as I felt I couldn't get faster and move into the top group as I was already on my limit. So we arrive at a soaked track and it's pissing down, great start! I've never used wets but got some with the bike so Lee and I swapped out my supercorsas and changed over to wet. Must buy captive spacers and discs to speed this up. Lee gave me plenty of confidence and said the first session was to get used to the tyres and settle down but a red after 3 laps with a massive highside infront of me didn't help but I was amazed at the grip if you don't take the piss. Before going out on the second session we discussed the physics of the bike and it was a revelation going against a lot of what I've always thought. Sadly another crash again directly infront of me ended session two after 2laps. Thankfully the training is done off bike so I actually gained training time. I'm not going to give away the training drills but I will say it is all based around understanding what the bike wants and how you can get the most out of it and your visuals. I always thought I was riding the bike but in reality it was me on autopilot actually preventing the bike from co-operating with me. My road riding skills were also holding me back and I felt like I was learning to ride again in many ways but by the afternoon the drills clicked and it all started to come together. I actually set my fastest lap ever (I only got footage of the last session and the previous was better due to finally getting a session with no rain and a dry track so would of been comfortably quicker) on a damp track whilst raining which really proves how much I'd moved on. This was only working on a couple of corners out of 12 so going forward I need to apply what I've learned to the rest of the track corner by corner. I'm booking up the open pitlane trackday at snetterton and Cadwell to put these skills into practice before the season ends. I can't recommend nemomoto highly enough and it was a pleasure working with Lee on what would of been a crap wet day otherwise. If you're considering it it will improve your riding way more than fancy trick bits on your bike! Thanks Nemomoto! Edited by Badapple - 07 October 2020 at 11:12 |

Thanks for the write up Adam. You handled everything I asked if you and the weather threw at you brilliantly.
Anyone else interested in an off track day please drop me a PM. Lee. |
